Pain Management

At Professional Therapy Services, our team of rehabilitation experts are trained and prepared to work with local physicians in order to eliminate, control, and/or manage the pain of their patients. Our treatment approach to pain consists of a thorough examination of the patient
with a breakdown of identifiable limitations, followed by a treatment plan specifically designed for each need.

Stage I: Pain Elimination

Our first stage of recovery is to try to eliminate the pain completely through the many rehabilitation resources available at Professional Therapy Services such as:

  • Interferential Current Therapy
  • Ultrasound
  • Joint Mobilization
  • Myofascial Release
  • Soft Tissue Mobilization
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Deep Friction Massage
  • Mechanical Traction
  • Therapeutic Exercises
  • Mechanical Traction

Stage II: Pain Control

If a patient’s pain has improved but has not been eliminated, our therapists will quickly move him/her into a pain control stage. During this stage, patient treatment visits are reduced to a level of maintenance until a pain management program can be established.

Stage III: Pain Management

If a patient’s pain has not been consistently controlled within weeks of further treatment, our team, at the discretion of the referring physician, will advance him/her into our pain management self-care program, which consists of the following:

  • Recommended Lifestyle Changes
  • Posture Training
  • Ergonomic Training
  • Application of Braces or Supports
  • Application of a TENS Unit

Our holistic approach to pain is one that promotes a lifestyle change allowing our patients to return to a healthy and productive life as an active member of society. By helping our patients become healthier and stronger, we help our community and our country be the best they can be.
